Frequently Asked Questions

Bike Matrix is a B2B SaaS compatibility engine for the cycling industry. It integrates into online bike retailers' websites and eCommerce platforms to give every customer an instant, verified answer to 'will this part fit my bike?' at the point of product selection and purchase. It is not a parts marketplace, and not a generic AI tool. It is a compatibility infrastructure layer that sits inside a retailer's existing store experience.

What is Bike Matrix?

Bike Matrix is built primarily for online bike retailers. If your store carries a broad catalogue of components and your customers regularly face the question of whether a part will fit their specific bike, Bike Matrix was built for you. We're also building integrations for physical store POS systems, workshop software, and brand portals.

Who is Bike Matrix built for?

The core ICP is an online bike retailer with a parts-heavy catalogue and meaningful eCommerce traffic. If you run a store where customers browse brake pads, cassettes, chains, tyres, or groupsets – and where 'will this fit my bike?' is a question your customers or your customer service team regularly face – then yes, Bike Matrix is designed for your business. Stores generating $10M+ in annual revenue and operating an eCommerce channel typically see the strongest ROI. That said, Bike Matrix offers plans for stores of all sizes. If you're unsure whether you're the right fit, book a call and we'll tell you honestly.

Is Bike Matrix designed for my business?

To keep things clear, here are three important distinctions:

Bike Matrix is not an AI chatbot.
It’s built on verified, manually enriched compatibility data and mechanic-grade logic. While AI systems can be useful in many contexts, fitment decisions require structured, reliable data. Bike Matrix provides that underlying “source of truth” that other systems can depend on.

Bike Matrix is not a standalone parts database product.
The compatibility data is purpose-built to power the Bike Matrix engine and experiences. It isn’t offered as a raw, general-purpose dataset for third-party use.

Bike Matrix is not a retailer.
We don’t stock, sell, or ship parts. Instead, Bike Matrix works inside your existing store to surface accurate compatibility results against your own inventory and catalogue.

What is Bike Matrix not?

Bike Matrix compatibility checks are live and specific to the surrounding components of a selected bike, that's how we can apply our compatibility logic to customised bikes.

What makes Bike Matrix different from a product filter or brand fitment guide?

Yes. Customers who have swapped components out of their bike's stock configuration can update their bike profile inside of the Bike Lounge in the Virtual Workshop to reflect those changes. Compatibility checks then run against the modified build – not just the factory spec. This matters because a significant portion of riders are not riding stock bikes, and a compatibility tool that only handles factory configurations leaves a real gap.

Does Bike Matrix handle custom or modified bikes?

Bike Matrix integrates via API with any eCommerce platform or website. A dedicated Shopify app is available on the Shopify App Store. For non-Shopify platforms – Magento, WooCommerce, custom builds, ERP systems, POS software, and workshop tools – integration is via API. The system is platform agnostic by design. To help get up and running with the solution as quickly as possible, we offer an SDK option with pre-built elements. Contact the team if you want to discuss your specific stack.

What platforms does Bike Matrix integrate with?

Bike Matrix won the Eurobike Award 2024 in the Digital Solutions category and has been covered in 40+ unpaid editorial features across global cycling industry media. It is actively supported by industry organisations including European Cycling Industries, ZIV, VSF, DiBike, WBIA, Stichting DST, and Bidex. Over 150 global component brands – including SRAM, Shimano, and Campagnolo – have provided data used by Bike Matrix.
